September 2014

The Tuncurry/Forster Jockey Club hosted the Business Chamber of Forster-Tuncurry last Tuesday morning for breakfast, catering for thirty five guests including the member for Myall Steve Bromhead. After coffee, ham and egg rolls, fruit and muffins, a guided tour of the new Stewards’ and Jockeys’ rooms, all were pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the facilities that are now available for the racing fraternity at the Tuncurry track, consisting of male and female jockeys’ room, large stewards’ room, and a well appointed scales room, showers, toilets and large TV monitors throughout.

Racing NSW has invested one million dollars into the Tuncurry track in preparation for TAB race meetings; none of this would be possible without the brilliant help of our volunteers.

Apart from serving breakfast to the Business Chamber, the Committee is very busy making all ready for the September 13th “Spring Fling”. Shake off the winter blues on race day. The Tuncurry track after all the rain and the fertilizer applied three weeks ago, is now showing the benefit of the hard work that goes into track preparation.

The Pavilion goes up next week and the ladies are in full swing ready with decoration to set the scene, gazebos are being pegged out the, food outlets are in place and the refreshments are being chilled down. Don’t miss out on this six race program, interstate, local bookmakers, six window TAB and witness the running of the “Tuncurry Mile” proudly sponsored by the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club. All information click onto tfjc.info or listen to the Latte Lady every Saturday Morning on 2RE.

Good Punting See You Down The Track,
Garry.
